RISEN SUN

A time so great is my wait
For the morning sun to rise
To see its light within my sight
Brings life to my sleepy eyes.

Thank God I feel the beat so real
The beat of the breath of life
Because instead, I could be dead
And cause my loved ones strife.

If clouds of gray shall come my way
And rain upon my time
Let them pour, for at my door
Knocks chances so sublime.

If on my face is that of grace
A smile so pure and true
I will not rest until my best
Has passed it on to you.

I fear the fate that comes with hate
For the time to love is now.
What is the way to love today?
Touch a heart, that's how.

What shall the wind say in the end
To bid the sun farewell
And greet the moon; a whistle's tune
At night where stories dwell?

When the dark of night replaces light
And the time has come to sleep
Before you lay, make sure you pray
For the hearts of those that weep.

Say a prayer if you should care
For those outside your home
And for all it's worth, pray for this earth
And our hardened hearts of stone.

Before the end, please dear friend
Pray for your precious heart.
That it may be pure and free
When body and soul shall part.

Forget how it seems. Have pleasant dreams
Say Amen and close your eyes,
For chances are born in early morn
When God's great sun shall rise.
