(A random, somewhat abstract thought)

I find inspiration in the rainbow after the storm, and the smile that dares to show itself in the midst of sorrow’s tears. I feel a certain joy when I see love still shining in the midst of hatred, and even a small flame of faith shining brightly in the midst of darkness. I am inspired by the endurance of someone who struggles in life, but continues on with what little they may have—and they make the most out of life as they know it. Even though I love the elegance of the rose, there’s just something intriguing about the wildflower. I have found a lot of jewels in life—a lot of wisdom, in the most unlikely places—and I have learned that you cannot just look at a person, and believe they cannot teach you anything. I have met people from all walks of life, some high on the mountain—others low in the valley—and those drifting somewhere in between, and I have realized that there are more similarities than there are differences. All people have a common knowledge of life in this form: We laugh. We cry. We feel good sometimes. We hurt sometimes. We win. We lose. We breathe the same air. We look up at the same sky. We see the light of the same sun, and are graced at night by the same moon. Blood flows through our veins. We need oxygen to breathe. We live. We will one day have to die. I believe that everyone has a story, and I like listening to the stories of others because somewhere in there…I know they will teach me something. It may be something that will help me to set a personal goal for myself, or it may be something that will remind me not to take a particular path in life and what may need to be done in the world. Although I am a person who stands upon my personal beliefs and feelings, I like listening to others. I believe you find out a lot about the world when you take the time to realize you’re not the only one in it. I enjoy the simplicity of life. I know that not all of life is simple, but I am not fond of relatively simple situations being turned into complicated matters. I have learned how important it is to learn from your mistakes. No one is perfect. I like hope. I like faith. Neither are easy to have sometimes, that’s just the way it is—but to endure the hardest times in life, to survive, is inspirational.
