A SILENT PATH

This quiet night does beckon me
To travel now, but silently
Peacefully with tender soul
Down such a quiet country road.

Have I known this peace before,
This silent road I do explore
This night wrapped up in silky bliss,
Have I ever known of this?

I've known of peace by waterfalls,
And roses bloom when nature calls
With gentle whispers in precious air
To summon beauty everywhere.

That kind of peace, I surely know
Where soothing breezes gently blow,
But I knew not within my soul
The peace I'd feel on a country road.

Gracefulness this road does claim
A kind of peace I can't explain
But a kind for which I've always prayed
On tearful nights, on dreadful days.

And now I feel that I am touched
By what I've longed for, oh so much
A peaceful treasure in my soul;
A silent path, a country road.
