A Midnight Moment

Just before my eyes shall close
While still the midnight whisper blows
And fills my heart with its caress
Yes, just before I claim my rest

I want to witness beauty bloom
While still the sky shall claim the moon
And still the stars hold on to bliss
While someone somewhere makes a wish.

Yes, I in graceful solitude;
A gentle kind of soothing mood
Can hear the waves of purest sea
Close in my heart, yet far from me
Sing a sort of melody
That comforts me
And sets me free.

The beauty that I witness bloom
This night beneath the silent moon
Is peace of mind's sweet lullaby;
As kind and calm as midnight sky.

And now my mind shall drift away
 Where magic is and peace shall stay
Where the midnight whisper shall always be
Where I'll see the waves of purest sea.

This midnight moment's melody--
A pure and blissful memory
A treasure that my soul shall keep,
As now my eyes shall close to sleep.
A granted wish is what it seems
For now I'll rest...
Yes, now I'll dream.
